On Saturday night Rich was invited to a reception for a baby blessing. A guy (Salvador) that Rich works with invited him to this reception/party for his daughter's baptism. So Rich thought if would be fun for all of us to go. You know to expose the kids to a little culture. I will be honest I was not up for packing the kids up and heading to Glendale for a party on Saturday night. I just wanted to rent Alvin and the Chipmunks and be lazy and stay home, so needless to say I was not a happy camper. But I went anyway. First of all Rich said, it was in a party hall. Actually it was a garage and there were about 20 guys outside smoking and a few hundred more inside dancing to a live Mexican band. When we got inside everyone was either dancing, eating or drinking. I was not thrilled, but of course Salvador was so, so nice and he sat us at a table and brought us some food immediately. It was very good and very authentic. The girls did have fun and they even danced with Rich. It was really cute. Mackenzie really only wanted one thing, cake. We sat right in front of it and she just couldn't wait to eat some. So finally at about 10 pm they decided to cut the cake ( we got there at 8 pm and the party was supposed to go until 2 am), Mackenzie got her cake. Unfortunately, she was over tired and threw a fit before she could finish. So we left the party very fast. In the end we did have fun and the girls got a "cultural experience" out of it.
You are a really good sport! I went to a wedding for one of Ben's friends (it looked just like that) they also had an open bar! Is was quite an experience!

We made a little carnival in our backyard and invited Taylor's school
class to the party!

August 2007 - Macie woke up one morning after we had put her to bed without pants on the night before. She looks down and says,"well first things first, I have to put some pants on".
August 2007 - Macie and I are in the car. She asks me why we have to go to college. I tell her to learn how to be a doctor, nurse, etc... She then says, "well mom you have already taught me everything, why don't you just be my college".
September 2007 - It is Macie's first day of dance and she is so excited. She says,"Mom, I can't wait for everyone to meet me".
March 2008 - Mackenzie's question every day at least 10 times. "Mom, you and dad got married in the temple?", "yes"
"Oh, I'm going to get married in the temple to" .
April 2008 - Macie's favorite thing to say lately, "awkward....."
In any situation, it makes me laugh.
Rich asked Macie, "what happened to your elbow?" (she had a big scrape on it) Her response was, "I fell on the sidewalk, yeah dad, bad times."
I was getting ready in the bathroom, while Madison was having a fit about cleaning. Madison storms out of the bathroom and Macie comes in and says, "7 year olds, what are you going to do."
One night we were watching the Jazz game. Macie asked, "Dad which team are we going for?" Rich says jokingly, "for family night we'll learn all about basketball." Before I could even say anything Macie says, "Dad, don't you know family night is to learn about Jesus." She made me so proud.
June 2008 - Mackenzie trying to say "Parent Trap" (that was the movie we were watching). First she said, "parent crap, then karen trap, finally parent trap." I just thought it was so cute.
We get home from church and Mackenzie wants a rice crispie treat. So she puts it on the counter and says, "Mom someone wants a rice crispie treat, hello!" It made me laugh.
August 2008 - After Ryker was born and we were all in my hospital room Macie says, " We have been waiting for this moment for so long." How sweet is that.
After we brought Ryker home, Mackenzie looks into his bassinet and says,"Well that's it I'm a big sister."
November 2008 - Dad, Ryker only has little ears. He can't hear us when we're talking. (Macie)
November 2009 - Rich was passing out treats in our sunday school class and Macie was the last one. When it was her turn she said,"without further a do" and took a treat.
November 2009 - Macie just had her hair cut and it looks a lot like Selena Gomez (Wizard of Waverly Place Star). So she walks in the house and in a very sassy way says,"Selena's in the house!"
February 2010 - Mackenzie's new saying is, instead of "Peace out dog" she says, "Peace out Camel". Gabe said to her one day, "Peace out dog" and so she thought of a new animal to go with that saying.
